I have climbed Manaslu(8,163m) in September 2017, utilizing the service of Seven Summit Treks Ltd.(SST) And I have been pleasantly surprised with the quality service that I received during the expedition. First, I was very satisfied with the smooth schedule management of the SST. From the day I left Kathmandu(Sep.9) to the day I returned to Kathmandu(Sep.29), there was no single day of waiting or waste. Everything was moving on so fluently; heli flight, rest, moving up to BC, puza, acclimatization trip, rest, summit push, return to Kathmandu. It is amazing that it took only 16 days from the day of arrival at BC(Sep.11) to the day of summit(Sep 27). Mingma Sherpa, Dawa Sherpa and other management staff diligently worked for this smooth transition of each phase. Secondly, I appreciate for the excellent Basecamp food. Everything was so fresh! I think this is possible only with SST because it has so many clients so that operates 5 or 6 kitchens at the same time and they are equipped with everyday new fresh supplies such as fruits and vegetables. Economy of scale produces quality of scale here!
In my opinion the SST is greately undervalued at the market now. There is a bias against Nepali and Nepali company. Some western critiques often say “cheap oprator”, implying ‘low quality’. However, clever clients know and choose ‘good priced high quality’ service such as SST.
